Nokia 8 goes for $200 at Woot and trusted eBay seller in brand-new condition

The new Nokia, reborn under the management of a little company called HMD Global a couple of years back, is only now gearing up to unveil a “true” flagship Android smartphone. But 2017’s Nokia 8 and 2018’s Nokia 8 Sirocco came pretty close to meeting ultra-high-end standards, with sharp screens, a powerful processor, and capable dual rear-facing cameras.

Unfortunately, the two (almost) premium handsets were never officially released in the US, which isn’t stopping Woot and BuySpry from currently selling the original Nokia 8 at an essentially unbeatable price.

The factory unlocked device is available in “Polished Blue” and “Steel” color options at $199.99 a pop, with a US adapter thrown in the box by both merchants for minimal charging hassle.

That obviously means you’re looking at “international” versions of the Snapdragon 835-powered Nokia 8 here, which should be easy to activate on GSM carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile, although 4G LTE coverage may prove spotty due to the lack of support for a few essential network bands.

On the decidedly bright side of things, both Amazon subsidiary Woot and trusted eBay seller BuySpry will hook you up with brand-new, unused, untouched Nokia 8 units in exchange for your measly two Benjamins. You’ll even get a 90-day limited warranty from the former retailer, as well as free shipping no matter where you decide to purchase the phone from.
As bad as the network coverage compromise might seem (and it’s definitely not that bad), the specifications of the Nokia 8 make it a no-brainer buy at $199.99. We’re talking a 5.3-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution (and admittedly thick bezels), 4GB RAM, dual 13MP rear snappers with Zeiss optics, a 13MP selfie camera, fast-charging 3,090mAh battery, a beautiful aluminum unibody design, and yes, even Android 9.0 Pie software.
