Google Pixel and Pixel XL price and release date

The speculation is over, and the rumors were true - Google indeed killed the Nexus line with the announcement of the new Pixel and Pixel XL phones, entirely #madebygoogle. Well, it looks like HTC may have had the speculated input, but we digress. The phones are powered by the newest and powerful Snapdragon 821, have 5" 1080p and 5.5" 1440p displays, 4 GB of RAM, 12 MP cameras, and good-size batteries. So far so good, but the phones are set apart by Google as shipping with Android 7.0 Nougat on board, being poster kids for the Daydream VR platform, and offering free unlimited storage for your photos and vids in original resolution, including 4K footage.

How much for these puppies, and when will they be available? Well, they are available for pre-order today in the US, U.K., Canada, Germany and Australia, and on the 13th in some markets like India, while the release date is October 20. Verizon will be carrying them exclusively when it comes to US carriers. 

Prices start from $649, or $27 a month, how about that? Of course, Pixel will be offered unlocked on the Google Store, too, and it also works with Google's Project Fi network. The Pixel with 128 GB of onboard storage is $749, while $769 will net you the larger Pixel XL with 32 GB, and the XL with 128 GB is $869. The blue version seems to be only for the US, bummer.
